CNN) - fashion giant Christian Dior has launched a proceeding to dismiss the famed designer John Galliano, having been filmed in a Paris restaurant making anti-Semitic remarks, as reported Tuesday.
The company condemned his "very offensive statements and conduct" in a statement announcing their plans to lay off Galliano.
"I Love Hitler," Galliano said in a video obtained by the British newspaper The Sun. "People like you would be dead today. Their mothers, their fathers would all be gassed." The comments, according to the report, were carried out at a bar in Paris in October.

Galliano was released, but must appear before the court in the coming weeks. His lawyer, Stephane Zerbib, has denied the charges, the prosecutor said.
